say hie to froyo =)

My aria just got its over the air upgrade from HTC. :D downloaded the content and installed it. Well, what can I say? It's awesome! With the Android 2.2 froyo upgrade, everything gets faster and better. The web browser has the same engine as the Google Chrome and can you imagine this, you can turn your phone into a WiFi modem. Oh my god, this is so cool. I love aria, and I love Android too XD

It's Dec 22, and 2 more days i'll be out of this office! Can't wait for it ;)

addiction

I'm addicted to my Android-powered HTC aria. So many apps for me to kill my time. YouTube and Facebook colour my working hours XD and now I'm writing this blog post using an app from the market known as Blogger Droid to try out its features. If this works well, I might just update my lil bloggie. Well, at least a little bit more frequent. ;)

internship, week 1, day 1.

The first thing I got back home after a tiring day was to left my document bag aside and switched on my lappie. Logged into facebook, I saw numerous updates from my friends who are having their internship in hospitals and medical laboratories. Their wall post is the elation itself. EDTA, troponin t, etc. we have learned a lot of things in the previous semester, and now we have the chance to experience the real deal.

I got assigned to the QA and QC (quality control and quality assurance) department of ecolite biotech manufacturing sdn bhd. On the office table where I was assigned to, laid a stack of papers with powerpoint in handouts. Upon seeing that, there I was, guessing that this would be the notes I have to grind early in the morning. True enough, I was told to go through them. HACCP, GMP, IPQC… the list goes on. The first thing i did after a short briefing by a staff was to visit the production plant of the factory. It was kinda huge, though not gigantic. So many chambers, so many machines, I started seeing stars after 5 minutes while trying hard to remember the entire landmark within the premise itself.

After the sightseeing, my first task of the day – to sort out all the documents and certificates of calibration of equipments of the production plant. I was given a stack of lists of machines (I think the font size was about 10 or less, maybe 7 or 8 >.<) and a thick file with all the certificates in it. That was not all of it, after torturing my eyes with the small fonts; I have to go through 7 or 8 of thick files with all the labels of the company’s products.

The next thing was all about quality control. Lots of stuff till my mind was saturated to a point that I could not take in another piece of information given by the person in charge. All the products, herbs, batching system, procedures of quality control starting from receiving order from goods delivery to the end product were like putting all the cars in Malaysia in the PLUS highway – congestion. I did not have time to copy a thing and everything she said, a few, well you could say that most of it slipped out of my mind and what was left is in my mind. That was all I get, hopefully I remember them well.

With a call from the store, off to the store to inspect a batch of goods – bottles, caps and miscellaneous items (some of them are stranger to me, was wondering what were they). How I wish they would fix air-con in store room as well. Together with the senior staffs, we have to examined the goods on the spot. samples were taken from the goods, and the number of samples taken were based on the amount of goods delivered to the store. that was not the end of it. QC involves the measuring of each types of items, including the measurement of height, diameter, etc of the item with digital caliper. it was not hard, but with all the tedious procedure and the desire to obtain the accuracy,  even the easiest task can be challenging too. I did not manage to finish all the measurement, and then the time was up. awww, time for home :D

unlike my other friends in hospitals and medical labs, i did not deal with blood, urine, or even stool. what i did has nothing got to do with my course of study directly. i feel proud because i was exposed to different things, new things! i am looking forward to tomorrow's testing of water quality in the production plant.

stay tune for more =)

urm..

urm it has been way too longgggggggg since i last wrote a post. too busy with studies. well ,what to do, Universiti Test Assignment Report (hmm, you should know well XD) messed up my day and night. loads of reports are piling up and no matter how hard i tried to finish, the pile doesn't seem to reduce in height. if i happened to slack off for a day or two, awww, that's it, i have to face the music.

if this blog were to be a nutrient agar in a petri dish, can you imagine the fungi on it? >.<

speaking of day and night cycle, mine got messed up. sigh, i have lecture at 8am and i'm still wide awake right now. all the reports and tests have zombie-fied me and i'm gonna be a walking one in lecture hall. looks like my language got rusty.

i have to get some sleep. if not i will be in deep sh|t. guess i will end my post with a big S-I-G-H. nitez.
