this time, it was The Observatory, by Emily Grayson that caught my attention. it's definitely another novel worth the time, so worthy that i did not regret pushing my text books aside.

 

-Sometimes love is written in the stars. All you have to do is look...-

another great novel by the author, the story makes you crave and long for more. the plot is totally unexpected. somehow too good to be true, somehow things turned out to be plain, but alluring.

-But in that moment I saw that there were two sides to every story, even a story about growing up. Neither of us knew the truth, because there wasn't one singular truth; there were many.- The Observatory, Chapter Nine, page 258.

4 hours of long break inspired me to make my way to the new library located in the new building. quite impressive i would say, compared to the previous one we had. altogether 3 levels and all the chinese reading materials could be found on the 2nd floor. i wandered around on the first floor, going through the narrow pathway in between the shelf and was hoping to find myself a book which i could indulge in it. academic books were out of the question. and there i was, in the midst of all the story books and novels, be it fiction or non-fiction, i glance through each and every books. so many books, but most of them did not catch my attention.

just as i was about to move to another shelf, i came across this little book. The Fountain, by Emily Grayson. i took a look at cover page and here goes the description about the novel:

what if...

you could turn back the hands of time...

what if?

a short and brief one, it felt to me as though it is not enough to give me a glimpse of the story. WHAT IF? the word caught my attention. at that very moment, i recalled of the past, of the shoe that i was in. i was still a teenage boy back then and i was questioning about everything that once had taken place, what if, was running through my mind, day and night, back then.

i finished the entire the novel in a single night and this goes into my new personal new record. the plot mainly revolves around love, friendship and family. there were many parts in which i have expected things turn out to be in the next few pages, and well, the author is so brilliant in twisting the plot, things turn out to be quite... out of expectation. the twist made me craved for more, till i could not let go of the book. a novel that worth he time and effort.

what if, what if? there were some questions that could never be answered, and some questions that should never be answered, and this one was both. -Pg 279, Chapter Ten, The Fountain.

at times, a life story without ending may not be perfect, but in another way, it may not be as imperfect as it seems. if i could turn back the hands of time and push the undo button in life, life would have been much different. i do not know if it would turn out to be good, or the opposite. i guess leaving the story incomplete, is somehow the most beautiful and most appropriate ending.

first and foremost, happy new year! bade farewell to 2009, and ushered the coming of twenty-ten! hmm, i know it's kinda late for me to post this new year stuff right now, but i guess it's better late than never. XD

2009 has been a... urm, how do i put in words? ah, it was a challenging year, but a great one nevertheless. aww, the most unforgettable moments in 2009 was this: i was down with dengue with ceaseless bleeding from my nose, and almost could not make it out from the hospital alive. guess what, i'm alive! someone up there must have really liked me =p

had one of the best christmas in my entire life. it has been so long since i celebrated that season with friends that i grew up with. a million thanks to wendy, alvin, khai hong and jen for making this christmas a joyous occasion.

christmas is in the air. strolling in the mall, christmas carols could be heard. glittering decorative items caught my attention. at last, the day that i have been looking forward to will be here soon. the season of red, green, and all that glitters.

oh how i miss those days, the good ol' days.

halloween in jusco

honey and i were strolling in jusco after a sumptuous meal in mcdonald. we saw interesting stuffs. holloween costumes for sale! a thought puzzled me, do malaysians celebrate holloween? do kids wear eerie masks and go about knocking on doors and shout: treat or trick? hmm, i wonder. if they do, i bet the housewives would come out with brooms and go after those brat. LOL.

we freaked jusco's shoppers out. one of the security guards was curious over what has happened and came looking at us. LOL. XD
