-bathe me in cold dilute potassium manganese(VII) acidified with dilute sulphuric(VI) acid and i'll turn into a diol.
-bathe me in hot concentrated potassium manganese(VII) acidified with dilute sulphuric(VI) acid and i'll turn into aldehyde and ketone. further oxidation will cause me to turn into a carboxylic acid. funny, potassium manganate(VII) will lose its color=)
